So now my scar is really accentuated…but all is good, I wasn’t hiding it anyhow. LOVE this top. Love even more, that I remembered to shave my pits before I took this pic. bahaha! This pattern was perfect for a beginner knitter like me! :)

I wasn’t sure on the yarn, I know it was one of those big pounder skiens…this one is a darker blue. Seems nice enough for a test run. :) I wish I had something nicer, but I don’t. :)

June 14: After spending a bit of time on this I decided I might like it so instead of finishing with the test yarn I just went and got some better stuff…I’ll cast on today on the way to the zoo! :) Later that day: I was able to finish quite a few rounds and am very happy with this yarn for this top. Glad I switched it up. :)

June 15: Started on the back part now, I’m so excited, it seems like it might actually fit me and be a top I like. I wound up doing another three decrease rows even though it said x-small should only do the one??? I am also choosing to not do any increase rounds…it is wide enough. It is pretty loose going around, I like it anyhow though, but I’d have chosen it to be a tad tighter there…

June 16: I put sc around the pit edges and put some decreases at the tops of the back-just to see what happens. I put it on some scrap yarn again and tried it on..need about 4.5” more and I’ll be happy. I did notice though, that this is yet another shirt that happily shows off my heart surgery scar. Not that I ever try to hide it, it just seems to be really flaunting it this time. Oh well. Gives people something to look at since there is not much else going on in my chest area! ;)

June 17: Only have the last inch or so to go, I’m going to put a little ribbing there-I’m not a fan of rolled stuff at the bottom, although I like it on other people I just know it will annoy me. Finished up with four rounds of k1 p1 ribbing and a bind off in the same manner. VERY happy with this little baby. :) It hangs low, but with a sports bra it doesn’t matter if you get a peek-ain’t nothing to see…Said in my best Obi Wan voice, “that’s not the chest piece your looking for….move along…move along.”

It’s a wrap! I finished my first week as a Dental Assistant! I am celebrating by going out to dinner with my family! I decided to wear the first top I ever knitted. It is FULL of mistakes. Little gappy holes, ends that have popped out, and twisted stitches are just a few of the imperfections. Why am I wearing this? To remind myself that although I may stumble at first, I will preservere and learn all I need to learn to do the very best I can.
