Modifying for using Heartland and Caron Simply Soft
CO 84 and just winged it from there…I pretty much followed the pattern and changed numbers as I came to them (in most cases they just went up or down by 12 or multiples of such)…I had to omit a lot of rows or my hat would be too long-so when I did the short rows I just did them where they felt right-I also used GSR as I never W&T unless I am doing a test and it is in the pattern.
I can finally stop stalking this stupid hat. DD is addicted to Harry Potter and doesn’t even want this hat. BUT this hat has intrigued me forever so I must make it…and I don’t want to hassle with figuring it out myself.
Ok, so I have to make a confession: I’ve not read the books and the movies make me fall asleep. I really like the stories but for some reason we just happen to watch them on days I’m tired-I LOVE how the movies look-the images on the screen are amazing and I always love what the characters are wearing…It is my sweet DD who loves Harry Potter…BUT HATES MY KNITTING…
That brings us to this hat…I’ve loved this hat since I first laid eyes on it-to heck with the fact that it is inspired by Harry Potter-I wanted to make this hat…But I didn’t because what would be the point, if no one would wear it? So when DD got into Harry Potter I got really excited. I thought surely she’d be thrilled with this….
But alas, she wants nothing to do with it-AND she won’t even tell me important story information about this hat. This annoys me greatly as I have some fun image ideas dancing in my head of how I want to photograph this FO…UGGH!
The next day-I was able to enact my vision….I had fun with photoshop…WHoohoo!!!
The last photo is of DD…On her last day off she said, “mom, I’m bookin’ it.” I had no idea what on EARTH she was talking about…And then I came downstairs and saw this. Even her shirt shows her love for books haha!
