I started once…got confused…
Started twice…got confused….
Started three times…got pissed…
Decided the written instructions sucked worse than my 12 year old trying to read a knitting pattern out loud (she doesn’t knit) so am sticking to the chart-but I ran out of time so now I have to wait till later.

July 3: After finishing Independance: Uncle Sam’s Baby Girl Dress, I decided to go back to this one….What I am doing is working it off of the chart-but rewriting it on paper as I go-I have a hard time reading charts as I work-I prefer written. Doing it this way I can see how the written part is all jacked up. Later that day….I’ve gotten to round 19 and realized that I have a hard time knitting when crappy music is being blasted. What is with the music of today? Everyone just whines and screeches! I totally messed up a round because I couldn’t think thanks to the lobby I was waiting in had the worst VERY LOUD music blaring! uggh! I almost used my needle stoppers as earplugs!!!

July 4th: Apparently the Walking Dead is on everyone’s agenda, so I got to knit a bit. I am at my wit’s end with that stupid pattern. The last few rounds of the yoke I just winged it-what a frigging nightmare. BUT that part is over, and now I’m about to divide for the armholes….Which always makes me say in my best Butthead voice, “I am Cornholio! I need TP for my armhole.” Which makes zero sense to anyone but me and a select few.

July 5: I’ve decided to go against the seed stitch underneath the petals-I wasn’t a fan of how it looked. I went for a garter stitch for 8 rounds and then all knit

July 6: I’ve done a large knitted section with a few increases to bring me up to the proper amount of stitches to make six of the petals from the skirt bottom pattern I chose (flora dress). I started the p k part about 3/4 of the way down, as I didn’t like how it looked throughout the entire skirt….the flora skirt was charted and worked very well with no complications at all

July 7: I finished it up-instead of the ties I used my crochet hook and ch 6, sl st on one corner and put a little button. I then sc around each of the edges (neck, armholes, and bottom) and all except the neck edge got a ch 3, skip a sc, sc in next sc final round. I also put a little crocheted flower and swirlies for a fun little accent. :) I gave the pattern 4 starts because the chart was it’s redeeming feature. If the written stood alone, I’d have to rethink my star rating. :) A very cute dress and I’m very happy with it.

So, I made the dress for my step-sister’s baby. My step-sister is actually just a daughter of my bio-mom’s current hubby (third). She is a real piece of work. As of now, this baby, and her following baby were taken away by DCFS and are in the process of being adopted. Her third baby is still with her, which makes zero sense. I have no idea if the baby ever wore this little dress or if it was even appreciated. Have I mentioned that my bio-mom is a piece of shit?
