I used GSR (german short rows)-my preferred method and omitted the w&t, and I like how it turned out.

I used some free charts I found online as well as just went off the cuff on some areas for the colorworking…the swirlies are stranded in some parts…

Update: As soon as I posted a picture of this hat someone claimed it. UGGH! Now I need a new one for me! haha!

Today is the day I start this project…It’s high time I stop stalking this thing and just finally make one already! haha! I can’t own a dead bird hat and not have a dead fish hat…duh.

I’m going to try some stranded knitting-I thought this would be a great chance for me to attempt that technique. :)

8-6-15: So I was really worried that the lips kept rolling more than I wanted as I was knitting-but when you put it on they magically stay in place, thank god. I was surprised that the 90 stitches are snug on me-I have a little head…I have been trying to knit tight-haven’t figured out my gauge yet-just winging it and loving it so far! :) Lots of scraps I’m using up!

I might have sewn the tail wrong-mine looks different…but I like it so I don’t really care. :P I love this freeking thing!!

For my eyes I used a crochet hook-made a magic ring- ch 1, 8 sc in ring do NOT Join-2 sc in each sc around-skip one sc, sl st in next sc and finish off. I then just embroidered the x’s with some black. :)
