I have always wanted to try this pattern. It is way too cute! Problem was that I always had something else that got in the way. Too bad world, I’m making time for this adorbs little project!
11-21-14: The pattern was a little unclear to me in a few sections, I fudged through the cast on part-I’ve never heard of making a chain and then picking up loops-next time I’ll just do a straight forward cast on-maybe that was what I was supposed to do but misunderstood? I also used the magic loop method-put 9 stitches on each side-but the next time I do this I will just make the head flat and then sew it up when I’m done-I’ll just bind off at the bottom. Way easier than dealing with the magic loop for just that little thing.
For the tail, I took a long piece of yarn, held the two ends together, then started twisting…once it was twisted really nice, I folded it in half to let it twist on itself, then put a knot at the bottom and then tied it on my rat butt.
I made the second one with the head done flat then seamed it. Much easier that way-zipped right through. I also did x eyes-LOVE LOVE! :) Such a clever pattern!
UPDATE: Everyone that came for Thanksgiving threatened to STEAL MY RATS!!! Lord almighty, I may have to make tons to give away! :)
I was able to give these away to a friend for a white elephant gift exchange. Her grand daughter loves them as rugs in her doll house! TOO COOL!
