Found out it will be a girl…her mama likes horses so I’m freeforming a blankie for the wee one. I am going to do the horse head with flowers around it with a sky colored background. When the name is announced I’ll make the name look like clouds in the sky….This should all be made inside a girlie type border.

I decided a rainbow would be cute in the top corner as well…but now I’ve run out of orange. Poop. I’m totally undecided about how I want to make the edging…a fancy border of different colors? A lacy border of one color? Decisions decisions….

May 28: Does the sun need sunglasses? This is the pondering point today. I think it does…but then I think it doesn’t…maybe they should be removable.

May 31: Project is sitting off to the side while I take a mental break with a knitting project. DH asked if he could peek at it…sure…go ahead.. I tell him about my vision with the border and clouds and he starts to tell me how my vision is all wrong…why it has to be a different way….I think he crossed a line here…I’m having violent thoughts involving his hand and my knitting needle. ;)

June 2: Filled in the blue sky! :) About time to start the border. Going to try a flower thing to make this just a tad (ok a lota tad) more girlie.

June 3: I was able to start the border and am very pleased with my little flower edging I came up with. I have been stressing over that one, working it out in my mind the entire time I’ve worked the blanket. Nice to see it actually is going to work! :) Slow going though-nature of the beast.

June 12: After a brief knitting break, I brought this puppy back out so I could knock out the edging before the wee one is born. I’m about 3/4 done with the flower edging and am really excited. Can’t wait to find out her name so I can finish it completely! I was working on this as I waited for dd to finish her karate lesson. Two women came over and wanted to see what I was working on, they started the standard, “oh how pretty can we see?” As I opened it up for them to look the looks on their faces were priceless. They were completely taken aback. One of the ladies said, “No, really, that is the most amazing homemade blanket I have ever seen.” They petted it for a few minutes before returning to their lives.

June 13: The flower border is still slow going but I’m almost there. Down to my last 10 inches! WHEEEE!!!

June 15: She told me the baby’s name, and I happily begun work on that! :) If she’d had picked a much larger name, I’d have probably flipped out because it wouldn’t have fit so well! bahaha! I just have a few flowers on the bottom to finish up and I’m all done! EEEK!
