My first time using a knitting chart. I’ve done my cast on and half of the first row. Exciting. :)

For reading patterns: read the row starting from the direction the number is on.
Ok, that sucked.

Frogged that sucker and am casting on 57 instead whilst I practice. I think I am using fatter yarn, I didn’t even really check that part. bahaha!

I’ve frogged this thing three times…UGH. I’m determined to figure this little sucker out.

Ok, first pic is my latest attempt….getting much closer to knowing what I’m doing. I switched to worsted and did lower CO number (I think it was 46, I’ll check my notes).

The last pic is one of my fails. Oh ya, read the notes when it says round 1 is WS. duh. I need to start reading those kind of things.

So after going for a while at row 16 I decided it was wide enough. I then jumped to row 21-23. I had no idea what PU and knit meant so I just picked up some loops at the end row and then started with ribbing. But I picked up 10 loops because my band was not as wide.

I also did a YO after every 5th stitch every other row and then the next row was a decrease every 5th stitch to make ‘button hole’s so that I could make this adjustable. :) It worked. :)
