Notes

I’m not really sure why I think I can make this hat…but it has been catching my eye now and I think I need to just jump in and try it…I was lucky to have been able to get this pattern when it was so generously offered for free…

I’ve never brioched but have always fancied it…so here we go…I plan on using worsted so I will make the small size I think??

I’m thinking some boutique unforgettable (which will really suck if I suck because it sucks to frog) with some black..

Ok, so as I casted on (here is a tutorial) I decided that I should do the medium….After I did a few rounds I realized I should have done the small after all so I am stopping there and starting over (last photo). I would like to mention that the unforgettable is a real pain in the rump to work with in knitting-well…and crochet…but I do love how it looks.

Ok, so I changed from unforgivable to a heartland-glacier bay. It’s blue..I did like the long color changes of the unforgivable but it was just too much for my first brioche attempt…

So then I got a little daring and decided to add the unforgettable after all…two colors..what fun! :)

So..how can you not love a knitting technique that tells you to burp? Like seriously. I have been the most awesome burper in the history of the world…no joke…I can say the entire alphabet-IN ONE BURP…so ya…I like brioche…it’s fun to say out loud…brioche…brioche…but it doesn’t have a good rhyming word…so it really sucks in poetry…

I wound up only doing six repeats of the beginning portion, three repeats of the pattern and then I stopped when I felt the decrease portion was getting too long…and I just pulled through all the ends…This was all because I used a worsted weight. I’m very happy with my hat!

I think I shall make a matching cowl. ooOOoooh! I’ll cast on 84 still using the same yarns and same needle…
