I modified the pattern to work with the yarn I chose-I did 1. 5sc in magic ring

1. sc in each sc
2. sc in each sc
3. sc in each sc
4. in BL only, 2sc in each sc
5. sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc I kept increasing until I had 42 stitches, as that fits newborn with my gauge. I started in pink and when my pink looked large enough I used the BL for adding the light tan color to give it a little 3-d look…

I sc the whole hat as I was liking that stitch for this one…However the last two rows I did one row of dc and then I did a FPDC, BPDC alternating around for a ribbed at the bottom effect. Turned out cute! :)
