My first attempt at making my own pattern for a top-this (in my mind) will be a cardigan with a simple pattern for an open look. I may get this one tested…although I may wimp out since I’m so new at knitting.

The name (stay with me here): Scales + Feathers=Sceathers…I’m dragonbird so I tried to get a feather/scale thing going here.

I’m using larger needles because I want this open and airy. So far, it is coming along quite nicely. I’m writing everything out because I don’t have chart software nor do I enjoy working off charts-so it looks like a crazy jumbled mess (should look better typed out), but it is such an easy repetition! I’m getting kind of excited about this one!

9-1: Ok, so far this is really coming along nicely. AND I am now understanding why there are a heck of a lot more knitting patterns than crochet patterns. It is really easier to make a knitted pattern than a crochet one. Not that this is terribly easy, but if I were doing it in crochet it would be much more complex.

9-4: just needs blocking!!! ETA: Blocked like a DREAM this yarn is AMAZING!!! :)

Found the perfect dress for this top. I don’t dress up much so this is actually the first time I ever wore it-two years later haha! My son’s graduation from High School. :)
