This is a really easy to understand pattern-what amazing detail into every single step. An adventurous beginner could totally get one of these under their belt. The written is done so well that I have had no problems-I have had to peek at the photo tutorials maybe like two times so far and I’m already on part 4.

I have been in a really depressed funk lately. :( I’ve had some issues with family members that has just gotten me completely stressed out. I HATE feeling like that-I try so hard to be happy all the time, but it isn’t working for me the past month or two… I have had no creative juices flowing through me for designing and am so so very thankful to this amazing pattern as well as the Mandala Madness pattern-they are involved enough to help keep my mind busy for a time. They are what I need now…and at least, some good can come of my deep sadness and inner turmoil.

I’m feeling a lot better. I still have a ways to go, but I am digging out. :) And sophie is growing! :)

I brought her with to my daughter’s kobudo weekend training session in another state. The gym in which they were working was cycling in the outside air into the gym and it was 42 degrees. :( OMG I was dying of coldness. I finally got so cold I couldn’t work anymore-my hands were purple and I wound up using my Sophie to keep warm!! Her kobudo family is trying to get her to go to Okinawa next summer for the big anniversary gathering. It will be almost five thousand dollars-I’ll have to start saving up now if she is going to be able to do this…But it was hilarious, the men were taking bids on Sophie-it made me laugh-there was no way I was giving her up though…although the bidding was getting a little serious-I was almost at the point to hand her over-and she isn’t even done! haha!

I wonder if the pattern has been modified since the beginning? So many people say that theirs has a bulge in the center…mine does not. Perhaps it is my looser gauge? I am a loose crocheter…I’m not really having any issues with puckering at all…

CONFESSION: I haven’t counted a single round this entire time. Sure, I count as I go along and once in a while when I get to a part I realize I missed a stitch or had an extra, which I fudge then on that round I am on…Going really well so far, what an awesome pattern.

I am just starting the butterfly band and am so giddy about the whole thing! This thing is HUGE and I really want to add the squares to make it rectangle…so lordy lordy it will be even bigger! Oy!

I am on the butterfly band. O.M.GAWD. I put it on my queen sized bed and realized this thing is BIG ENOUGH. I had wanted to do the Jack and Lydia squares as well, but I’m thinking after I end week 18 I am done. I don’t even want to continue it is so big, but I have to have it look finished.

So….I decided to end a few rows after the fun little popcorn flower round. I am doing a sl, ch 3, 3dc edging in dark purple to give it a fun edge.

I have started the edging round and got an etsy order that I must fulfill..so…sorry Sophie, you are left behind.

did it! I finished my Sophie’s Universe! I was just about to finish weaving in all the ends when hubby decided he had to hold my hand. And so I sat….loving my hubby, holding his hand…but secretly wishing I was weaving in ends..with a needle sticking out of my mouth…but not daring to let go of that hand! He eventually had to go to bed and I was able to get them all woven in-hopefully tomorrow I can get some glory shots of my new finished piece!
