Just found out my gramma had a heart attack. My grammy..the one that taught me to crochet. I am beside myself right now. She helped raise me when my mom left me with my dad. She was the one that taught me how to make klub (a norwegian potato dumpling), how to decorate cakes and how to make icecream in ziplock baggies. She was the one that got a bead out of my nose and always knew how to solve all of my aches and pains as a kid-and long into adulthood. My grammy means more to me than many people in my life…I know she is old…but she was supposed to live forever. I pray she makes it out of this, but she is pretty sure she will not. My heart is breaking.

9-27-16 Gramma is doing much better-they might release her from the hospital today! yeah!

After making one square I decided to go to photoshop to play with more colors. Each square takes quite a while and ‘ain’t nobody got time for dat!’ ;) …i’ve also decided that I don’t like the way it looks like rings of color…darnit. My artsy self is making this more complicated. I’m using two colors in at least one round now to help break up the circular feel of the colored rounds…

For such a pricey pattern, I would expect it to be better written as well as not have errors. It can’t be that difficult to actually correct the errors in the pattern in this technological world. Because of all the errors and honestly, the wording that is just a little more complicated than it needs to be I’m not giving it 5 stars.

I have all the squares done-glad I went the ‘assembly line’ route. I’ve woven in all those awful ends. OMG the torture. I am now working on the border. I wanted it to be more of a stained glass look so I did one round of how the individual squares have a border, then I did a dc around in color in BLO, then ^5 sc, tr in 4 stitches over of fl of two rounds down, sk dc, sc in 3, tr in same stitch as previous tr, repeat from ^

then using a different color, dc in FLO of two rounds below, then with MC-dc cl putting posts on previous tr posts with sc in between.
