Test knit for Johanna

Mods: body longer to fit me; and more gradual decreases on the sleeves, every 10th row to 58 sts; then every 15th row to 54 sts. I’ve used slightly smaller needles for the lace trimmings (3.25mm) and increased slightly less on the 1st row (to 225 sts for the body), with no increase for the sleeves (54 sts).

Yarn: I had just enough of the Hayton to finish all the MC knitting, but it was very close! After some procrastination, I’ve gone for the charcoal Milburn as the lace contrast - a cream shade seemed a safe option, but I think a darker one will look a bit more interesting Buttons are odd plain black ones from button jar.

FO: love love love this! I really like the contrast trimmings and the black buttons, though the lace detail is slightly lost in the darker yarn. But the overall look is great and I also like the slight variegation in the skeins of Hayton. This is the first time I’ve knitted with ECY Hayton , and I must say it’s wonderful stuff! Beautiful to knit with and it produced such a smooth velvet fabric
