When I first saw this pattern, my immediate thought was: my stash selection of Eden Cottage Yarns’ Milburn 4ply! Needless to say, I ended up buying extra for a different colour palette, but then, hey ho!

There is a lot of finishing with this pullover and, although I like picking up stitches/getting a neat finish, I’ve found it quite hard to get the woven in areas/seams as good as I like them (NB: I wove in all the ends before I picked up sts for the side panel). And then I’ve finished a sleeve, only to find it too fitted and just about reaching my elbow: mid-arm would be preferable! So I need to rip this back and readjust it…

Going to put this to bed, just for a while

20.4… and it’s awake again, after a few weeks’ out of my field of vision: I am almost there after all!

Mods:
Body: knitted to 15” before start of bottom ribbing.
Re-worked sleeves: I have picked up the 58 sts I had on hold, then picked up 4 more sts in the armhole. I have continued with 62 sts, following colour sequence but in 3” blocks of colour. Have knitted to approx 10”, decreased a few sts, then knitted the ribbed cuff to bracelet length.
Side seam: 3-needle bind off, rather than Kitchener graft.

Yardage: the finished pullover weighs 300gm which means I’ve used 6 balls of Milburn in total or 1,308 yds. This is actually almost spot-on with the total yardage given for the M size in the pattern, even allowing for my mods.

All good… I’m glad I persevered with this
