I saw this pattern yesterday, and my heart skipped a beat as I realised that it would be perfect for my much-coveted, beautiful skeins of Meya’s Libertines. Even though I do convince myself from time to time to only buy yarn if I have a pattern in mind, sometimes the yarn fumes (even via my computer monitor) get the better of me. I’ve long loved Meya’s dyeing - complex, luminous, always interesting - and this lovely yarn will work really well with this quirky pattern.
9.3: wow, this looks/feels wonderful! I don’t have time to block it until next week (off to Scotland and EYF tomorrow, eek!) but: it’s a really flattering top and perfect for spring/summer. I love the fit and shape of it… and I’m going to use my 2 other skeins of Libertines to knit another paler version :)
No mods, knitted exactly as the pattern states. I needed to cast off very loosely though: the first attempt was too tight and I ended up using a 5mm needle, loosely at that.
15.3: FO… things I particularly like about this: the high neck (doesn’t feel constricted and is good for hiding a turkey neck); the interest on the shoulders with the lace pattern (doesn’t show up that well with this yarn, but it will with the next one I knit!); the general drapiness (again, no constriction around the armholes and sits nicely on the hips); and the lightness of the yarn (heavy lace/light fingering makes it eminently wearable when the weather warms up). Talking of the last point, the sun is shining today, it’s distinctly spring-like, so I’m going to enjoy wafting about in this today. I’ll take it off for the gardening though ;)
