Jo had admired my crazy mohair bag…so I finally got around to making her one.

Knit
I used the black/gold Luna as the colorful accent. I doubled it in the top half of the bag body along with the mohair. It glints very subtly - a little big of bling blinking from the upper body of the bag - and it really picks up in movement so it is essentially impossible to photograph. I hope that it becomes a little less subtle as the bag felts.

The black yarn is hard to photograph. It looks gray in the first photo, and then I had to underexpose the image to get any detail to show in the pre-felting photograph.

Finished the knitting 10/19.

Felt
Felted 10/19 (inside old pillow cases, 1 each for bag body and strap, using the top-loading washing machine at the cottage)

• Normal wash - H (rinse temp doesn’t matter), water level 75%
• Turned back the dial to go through the wash/agitation cycle 4 times.

The height of the bag went from 16” to 11”.

Sew
This is the part I procrastinate.

12/7 - first attempt at sewing in the zipper. Bought zipper by the yard and had trouble getting the pull on (tho I found some good YouTube videos that helped). Then after I sewed it in (and realized it wasn’t quite right in another aspect), I managed to pull the zipper pull out of the zipper off the bag…had to rip all of the sewing out and get a new zipper from the store.

But, I found a coverall zipper which zips from either end. Wasn’t able to find one the right length previous trips to Jo-Ann.

12/8 - Got it in. The new coverall zipper looks great and works well. Now just need to photograph it.
