Notes

Using my Shetland yarn stash for this!
To make transitions between colors more smooth, I’ll be alternating at the transition point.

Once I divide for sleeves & body, I should only use about half of a skein of yarn before changing to the next, as there needs to be a bit for the sleeves as well.

I did make a plan, but who knows how that’ll stick…

My mods

  • Cast on 8 sts less than the pattern calls for, and working 5 cm / 2 inches of neckline rib before starting the short rows. Then I won’t need to go back and work the neckline afterwards.
Adding one more repeat of Raglan increase round A before starting the B increase rounds, to compensate for those 8 less sts at cast on.
  • Cast on using 3 strands of Shetland yarn, not adding mohair until I finish the rib and start the yoke.
  • Using TechKnitter’s technique on making the transition between rib and st st more smooth.
  • Bottom hem: Dec’d w/ 25% on rnd before ribbing (k2, k2tog around).
  • I wasn’t happy with the neckline, so I ripped it out and redid it: I worked for 6 cm, then folded it back and sewed to form a double neckline rib.
  • the purl side is absolutely the prettiest, so that’s the right side now!
  • To make sure I had enough yarn for the second sleeve, I divided all yarns to use for the sleeves into two equal parts before starting on the first sleeve. I ended up using perhaps half of each, but hey - just wanted to make sure!

Yarn used

  1. Jamieson’s 104 + Jamieson’s 134 + Jamieson’s 1390
  2. Jamieson’s 104 + Jamieson’s 134 + Jamieson’s 1390 + KK KidSilk light blue
  3. Jamieson’s 134 + Jamieson’s 134 + Jamieson’s 1390 + KK KidSilk light blue
  4. Jamieson’s 134 + Jamieson’s 1390 + Jamieson’s 1390 + KK KidSilk light blue
  5. Jamieson’s 134 + Jamieson’s 1390 + Jamieson’s 1390 + KK KidSilk Spring Sky
  6. Jamieson’s 240 + Jamieson’s 1390 + Jamieson’s 1390 + KK KidSilk Spring Sky
  7. Jamieson & Smith FC39MIX + Jamieson’s 1390 + Jamieson’s 1390 + KK KidSilk Spring Sky
  8. Jamieson & Smith FC39MIX + Jamieson & Smith FC39MIX + Jamieson’s 1390 + KK KidSilk Spring Sky
  9. Jamieson & Smith FC39MIX + Jamieson & Smith FC39MIX + Jamieson & Smith FC47MIX + KK KidSilk Spring Sky
  10. Jamieson & Smith FC39MIX + Jamieson & Smith FC47MIX + Jamieson & Smith FC47MIX + KK KidSilk Spring Sky
  11. Jamieson’s 147 + Jamieson & Smith FC47MIX + Jamieson & Smith FC47MIX + KK KidSilk Spring Sky
  12. Jamieson’s 236 + Jamieson & Smith FC47MIX + Jamieson & Smith FC47MIX + KK KidSilk Spring Sky
  13. Jamieson’s 147 + Jamieson’s 236 + Jamieson & Smith FC47MIX + KK KidSilk Spring Sky

When dividing for body & sleeves, remains:
Jamieson’s 240 - 21,2g
Jamieson’s 1390 - 18,5g
Jamieson’s 1390 - 12,6g
KK KidSilk grey - 32g

… and then I lost count of which colors I combined, and just winged it ;)

Total yarn use: 605g.
I still need to figure out how much I used of each color, just to be able to update the stash…
