Notes

Gauge
I got a little bit smaller gauge than pattern is written for. My gauge was 19x24 stitches.

Needles
I tend to knit a bit loose on the purl row so I always knit that row with a size smaller needles. My Hiya Hiya cable makes this pretty easy since they are interchangeable and I can have different needle sizes on the same cable. My knit row is knitted with 4.5 mm and my purl row with 4.0 mm.

Modifications

  • I made 10 extra rows before beginning the chart. Otherwise it would start above my hips since I’m tall. I suggest to try the cardigan before beginning the chart so it ends up on the “right” place. :)
  • The decreases of the sleeves is (in my opinion and in size 37”) too narrow. I made 5 decrease rounds, then 25 rows with no decreases and then 5 more decrease rounds.
  • I hate tubular bind off so I just BO in pattern. Worked out fine for me. :)

Yarn
The combination of merino and cashmere might make you think this yarn is crazy soft. Well, it’s not. I’m an itchy person and to me this is a little bit itchy, even after blocking. I will have to wear something with long sleeves underneath.

Pills are few and easily removed which I like!
