Notes

The pattern has excellent and clear instructions along with pictures and some useful videos. Pattern deserves 5 +++++ stars, IMO. Turned out adorable.

I am so excited to be knitting this adorable Santa Gnome for the 2025 Christmas holidays and gifting a few as presents. Searching my yarn remnants bin, I believe I have enough yarn to complete some of the project. Used the Liberty Wool by Classic Elite yarns in color wine from my stash.

Body/Head-Long tail cast on of 46 stitches on a US size 4 circular knitting needle. Joined in the round after garter rows. Beard placement for head, remember pattern is worked to seam later and some of the P needs to be change to K and visa versa. Used the X & O’s cable pattern in the instructions.

Beard-For the beard 28 wraps around the book ((6 ½ Inches) to start. Added a few more wraps to fill out the beard. Used the size H crochet hook to attach the middle of each strand to the purled stitches on the head using the crochet hook.

Arms-Knit in the round and knit one arm on the plane.

Boots-Knit flat. Then seamed and stuffed. Hold the gnome upside down. and attach the boots to the first horizontal purl row on the bottom of the body.

Nose-Knit flat. Then seamed and stuffed.

Hat- Knit in the round. Jingle Bell from Hobby Lobby size 0.79 inches (2cm).

Eyeglasses- Made by DH Vernon.

Knit for the KS G’babies 2025 Christmas gift.

Tray, Christmas tree, and ornaments are from Hobby Lobby.

Santa Bag- I just made it up as I went. C/O 32. K2P2 for a few rows. Eyelet holes for a drawstring. Used the Knitting Help - 3-Needle Bind-Off to close the bottom of the bag. Decorative trim and letter G from Hobby Lobby. Used US size 8 circular knitting needle either a long cord for Magic Loop.
