Barley in Burlington, because although I hope to get this cast on next week, I don’t expect to knit it until the week after that, when I’ll be on a trip to Burlington, Vermont.

The yarn is a skein of undyed worsted merino I bought and Jimmy Beans and dyed myself. I think it’s just right for this hat! Can’t wait to cast on.

9-5 cast on: decided to do a quick cast on while flying and make a start on the ribbing before I turn to this one seriously later next week.

9-24: Finished up. I didn’t read the pattern carefully when I started, so I’ve got a panel of reverse stockinette instead of the garter panel I’m supposed to have. But, I really like it this way, so I’ll pretend it was intentional. I’ve got enough yarn left to do trim or stripe for some solid mittens to go with the hat.
