I’m knitting these because my kids have made off with every pair of mitts/mittens in the house. These are mine. Hands off!
Cast on 40 stitches on size 2 needles using the scholar.
21 rows on size 2 needles (just slightly more than 2.5”)
Change to size 4 needles. Knit to 41 rounds.
For M1-lift strand between stitches from back to front and knit through the front.
Decreased to 32 on last mc round of the hand because they felt large.
3 rounds of rib before cast off. Use k2 k2bl for bind off. Perfectly stretchy.
The thumbs were huge so I went straight to the smaller needles and reduced to 10 stitches via k2t on the first round. Knit 2 rounds, ribbed two rounds, and bound off.
Knitting these in scholar, which is a worsted weight, gave me a man’s size glove. To do them again I would cast on for the infant size, 32 stitches, but follow the link guides for the adult size, adjusting as necessary.
Love this pattern. Casting on another pair straight away for a friend’s birthday.
