Notes

My grandad used to sing the song when I was small.

Note that row 1 is a WRONG side row.

Like all of Norah’s patterns, this is incredibly well written with detailed instructions. You won’t have to go anywhere else for directions on how to perform unusual stitches and the charts are very easy to follow, even in the small printed size.

Hint: If you miss a yarn over, particularly the last one in a repeat, it is very easy to pick up the missing yo with a crochet hook the next time you are on the knit side by wrapping the strand the should have been the YO around the purl bar from the following row and putting it on the needle. You don’t want to know why I know this, but trust me, it works perfectly.

I cast off with K2tbl, return stitch to left needle, repeat. Pretty good match for the edges.

This is a quick, easy knit. But for the fact that my March was consumed by work 7 days a week, I would have easily finished this in a couple of weeks even while working on other projects. It’s a fabulous pattern and Snug is a perfect yarn for it. I had about .75 of an ounce of the last skein left.
