Okay, after two trials and refinements, here goes.

US terms.

Do not turn at the end of rounds unless specified. Move marker up to each slst. Do not ch 1 at the start of rounds.

Round 1: Fsc a multiple of 3+2 to wrist measurement. Slst to first st and mark slst. (33 sts for 17 cms)

Round 2: fpdc around first st, bpdc around next st, fpdc, bpdc, repeat, slst in slst.

Round 3: fpdc, bpdc, repeat, slst in slst.

Round 4: blsc around, slst in slst.

Round 5: sc around, slst in slst.

Round 6: fpdc around sc 2 rounds below, sc 2, repeat til 2 sts remain. Fpdc in second last st, 2sc in last st. Slst in slst. (34 sts)

Round 7: sc around, slst in slst.

Round 8: fpdc around fpdc, sc 2, repeat, slst in slst.

Round 9-15: repeat rounds 7 and 8.

Thumbhole section:

Round 16: fpdc around fpdc, sc 2, repeat to slst. DO NOT SLST IN SLST. TURN.

Round 17: sc 32 or til 2 sts remain, leave 1 sc and slst unworked. TURN.

Round 18: sc 2, fpdc around fpdc, sc 2, repeat. TURN.

Round 19: sc around. TURN.

Round 20: sc 2, fpdc around fpdc, sc 2, repeat. TURN

Round 21: sc around. Fsc 2, slst to first st. Mark slst. TURN. (35 sts)

Round 22: sk slst, sc 4, fpdc around fpdc, sc 2, repeat, slst in slst. DO NOT TURN. (35 sts)

Thumbhole section ends here.

Round 23: sc around, slst in slst. DO NOT TURN FROM NOW ON.

Round 24: sk 1 sc, fpdc around next sc 2 rounds below, sc 2, fpdc around fpdc, sc 2, rpeeat, slst in slst. (34 sts)

Round 25: sc around, slst in slst.

Round 26: fpdc around fpdc, sc 2, repeat, slst in slst.

Fasten off if glove is long enough. Or repeat rounds 25 and 26 until long enough, making sure to end on round 26. Fasten off and sew in ends.

With thumbholes facing each other, place each button between the two centre posts and sew on.
