Notes

This yarn was given to me as a Christmas gift. I thought it would be perfect for a Clapotis, although I think I might need to find another ball to make it a decent length.

Found one, which claimed to be the same colourway (though not the same dye lot) and it couldn’t be more different! Thankfully it tones nicely, and I’ve used the odd ball in the middle so hopefully it won’t look too weird.

I left out one set of increase rows (so I repeated them 5 times instead of 6), and I think this is my ideal size - next time I might even leave out one more. I made a note of how much yarn it took to do the set-up rows and increases, so I could just carry on with the straight rows until the amount of yarn I had left dictated when to start decreasing again. I ended up with a Clapotis roughly 6 feet long, which seems about right!

Turns out you can’t put Rowan Tapestry through the washing machine - not even on a completely cold wool and silk wash. Damn thing’s felted at the ends. Nightmare!

(Quite tempted to put it through the machine again on a 30 degree wash, to see whether I can turn it into a properly felted scarf instead.)
