Testing this lovely wrap for Kimberly
I am super excited to use this wonderful cashmere from Colourmart. I swatched and washed it and the bloom is fabulous, just perfect for this wrap. It’s heavier than fingering after washing off all the machine oils ( looks a little thin before )
I tried to show the bloom but I am totally dreadful when it comes to taking photos with any camera or iPhone or iPad…. It’s a shame because what I see is always better than the photos :(
14 April: pattern reading, swatching cast on and I am off!
15 April: first short row section completed
16 April: oh sadness I found a row error about 6 rows from the beginning which threw out my rs and ws rows, thought I was going the wrong way! So although everything looked the same as the pattern is pretty much reversible, I just couldn’t leave it…so frogged and am starting over. As this is a test piece of knitting, I think it’s a good idea, I can now double check the written instructions for clarity for the lovely Kimberly
17 April: started over and got to the end of the increases and found I wasn’t on the correct row:( I have pinned it all out again and counted rows, increases and stitches!! Phew but still can’t find my errors….unpicked literally stitch by stitch row by row and still can’t find the error….just have to wait until I have the courage to go on…I want it perfect haha maybe that’s crazy? I think I will try a third time? It’s down to my lack of knitting experience but I am learning how to read my stitches so much better than before :)))
19 April: gave myself a break by knitting 3 pattern repeats of this..that focused and cleared my fried little brain.
Back on track. I must say at this point the pattern is lovely and it’s only a matter of getting the wording clear and it will be plain sailing. It’s just when testers are all working together sometimes it can get confusing..
Just completed the 3 short row section :) looking good
25 April: 6 short rows complete, not had much knitting time this week so far, hope I can make the test deadline
28 April: only 60 rows to go :) just finished the knitting :)
Now to wash out the oils from the cashmere and then blocking and photos :)))))
Lucky me CK came home and agreed to take some photos for me with his camera. i think he did a great job despite the horrid weather :)
