Finished :)
Fabulous pattern, will update notes soon
Another test for the very talented Anne
I am using 2 strands of felted tweed to make gauge.
The last photo is almost true to colour.
Once again I am thoroughly enjoying an al-fa design.
I wish I could say the same of this yarn. On the ball it feels beautifully soft but it’s hard and rough on my hands and I think by the end I will have used a whole tube of hand cream ! Let’s hope it softens with blocking or I don’t think Alex will be pleased.
I found the neck rather small with 10 rnds of 2x2. I tried various different cast off methods including tubular, but ended up with 8 rnds on a 4.5mm. I have a feeling that I will have to redo it again after trying on….
I decided to knit the body just halfway for now. I want to knit at least half of each sleeve so Alex can try it on for size. I am hopeful that it will fit him without any alterations.
It fits really well apart from the neck, but I am sure that I can sort it, maybe by using a much larger needle for cast off.
Didn’t have any knitting time this week due to other deadlines but hopefully will be ok from tomorrow. Should finish in a couple of days all going well :)
Just have to mention the shadow wraps. I first did them when testing Wrapped, and loved them. I used them making a Hat for my brother Simon, and they were just perfect, now I am using them again for this test. They are just the best!
After a week and a bits break due to Unravel and many family birthdays, I finally got to pick up my lovely knitting again…after a couple of hours knitting I suddenly realised that one of my cables on the back is wrong..so with great sadness I have to frog back and start again :(
It’s really noticeable in the second photo
