I thought I’d make this for my sister’s birthday. It’s an easy make, although I think there’s a final slip stitch missing on the legs as the pattern is written.

For my second gecko I used jdocktor’s idea and slip stitched all round to avoid having lots and lots of ends to sew in.

For my third and subsequent bookmarks, I didn’t tie round to make the neck, I did hdc, sl st, hdc then I made each leg as I went round. This meant using sl st to come back down from the foot to the body, and doing a sl st into the top and part of the body of the dc to avoid a gap. I also did the chains for the tail when I got to that point - there really isn’t any need at all to do that separately.

So I ended up with just two ends to sew in.
