Notes

The yarn is soft as a very soft thing but the colour changes are short and violent, which is an interesting combination. The skeins are from the same dye lot but are far from the same, so I’m using a different ball for every row. You can do it with three balls; who knew?

The pattern is simplicity itself. The trebles give a very loose, soft texture. Thank you to mjotread for the suggestion of how to do the edging, which is basically one row of tr, ch, sk 1, all along the row with adjustments made for decreases and the points, followed by one more row of trebles, with a picot (5ch, sc into 1st ch) instead of 2ch at the end of each point.

I started by trying this yarn with the Deco Sunburst Shawl, the Heron Shawl, and the Evil Stepmother Shawl. I feel that the lively colours of the yarn demand a simple pattern, and the Ocean of Love seems to suit it best. It’s a combination of colour and texture that you can’t really get from the photos. On my screen, the second photo gives the truest colour.
