I’m beginning to fall in love with Doris Chan patterns! This is my second one and it’s making up beautifully, although a bit smaller than I expected. I’m making the size 40 (and I’m a 38).

I realise I should have chosen a pattern with a higher neck - but then I’d have needed more wool!

A kind friend on Ravelry (I can’t remember who!) suggested a scarf would help, and I managed to find one where the blue matches the lavender of the cardigan. It wasn’t easy but I’m glad I did because I love this cardigan the more I wear it and now I can wear it all winter too.

I’ve moved one of the buttons that was in the wrong place and lengthened the sleeves - I bought some more of the wool for another project and luckily it was the same dye lot. You can see the longer sleeves in picture 2.

The Bonus Aran is good value. Only one knot in the whole ball, and a few white flecks. It’s nice to work with and I like the feel of the finished object. I had very little left over when I finished this project, next time I’d buy two balls to give me more leeway (although there would be a lot left over!)
