cast on 48 stitches, 3mm dpns. ribbing for 13 rounds. positioned starting tail of yarn on bottom of glove, centered p1-k4-p1 on top of glove. started cabling on 3rd repeat, made 4x4 left leaning cable for right hand glove. on round of 6th cabling, insert thumb hole place holder yarn on 6th stitch of needle 3 for 6 stitches. thumb hole has 10 stitches between it and the cable repeat purl edge. i started the pinky on the 3rd round after the 8th cable repeat. i used 5 stitches from the bottom of the hand and 6 from the top of the hand plus made 2 stitches for a pinky of 13 stitches around. the pinky is 18 rounds plus one decrease round (k2tog and a slip one knit 2, pass over then cut the yarn and thread through and pull tight).

pick up 5 stitches from the bottom edge of the pinky and knit in the round on all the stitches left for 3 rounds. for the ring finger use 6 stitches from the bottom of the hand, 5 pinky bottom stitches, 3 from the top of the hand and make 1 stitch for 15 stitches around.

thumb has 16 stitches

one glove weighs 35 grams, i am considering ripping out the cast on and knitting them as long as i have yarn since long gloves are very in this fashion season.

finished dec 7th, not sure yet if i will lengthen them.
