The pattern is written for a fingering weight yarn, but also includes detailed instructions for using different yarn weights or making different sized shawls.

This piece was made with “farm yarn” from our Pygora goats. Grown in Southwest MI by my goats & sheared by me, cleaned & spun at “Urban Dreams” mill, & custom dyed by Jessica, who also works at a LYS, these are the colors from our last batch of “old timers” fleece.

The turquoise & gold are type-A fleeces, the rest of the colors are from type-B fleeces. There is some noticeable difference between the sections, but the pattern is accommodating for the slight variation with these fleece types.

Each section used between 50-65 yards of 3-ply fingering weight yarn. This is a fun way to test out this unique yarn, and mini-skeins are available in “Rainbow” (above colors) or “Naturals” (cream, light gray, charcoal grey).
