3/13/15 - after years of feeling this was too tight, I ripped back to the waist (pink band). Then it languished for another 2 years. Finally started re-knitting with more dramatic shaping. Almost out of yarn and the length is barely past my bum… I knew it would be shorter but didn’t think that much extra yarn would be eaten up. Out of the frying pan and into the fire…

notes:

• st ratio = 1.22
• row ratio = 1.23
• pink waist band
• gold & blue hounds tooth. No contrast color edges.

Mods:

• collar - one 1” collar, used hemming method featured in Kabuto hat.
• sleeves - lengthen to elbow, ending in 2.25” rib
• raised waist to fall at my natural waist line.
• rep inc rnd every 5th rnd to hip circ, then knit straight.
• insert kick pleat in the back, last 8 inches??
• reverse the Kabuto hem for the skirt hem.

Updates:

1/2/12 - did a micro gauge swatch to get gauge ratios & adjust pattern. currently 3” past the underarm split - fit is perfect. collar mod fits much better than the pattern original (lays flat).

1/4/12 - started the waist band last night, switched to 3.25 mm needle & 1X1 rib in pink for WB. Still fits perfectly.

1/13/12 - 5” into colorwork. This is going to be goddamn gorgeous when it’s done.

1/14/12 - just 2 or 3 more increase repeats, then I’ll start knitting the skirt straight.

5/9/12 - cast off the second sleeve. needs steaming & seaming (hem).
