Notes

Rejigged the charts from mittens to socks.

November 15, 2016

Cast on 72, k1 round, p1 round, k1 round.
8 rounds corrugated rib
k1 round, inc 2 sts, rearrange to 39 (front) and 35 (back) sts.

Work 11 rounds of chart
Round 12 decrease 2 sts (short section of red) (37 front, 35 back)

Work leg chart

Needs gusset because of reduced stretch of colourwork. Slipped stitch heel flap over 37 sts, turn heel around central 7 sts (all in main colour). CC has to be cut and reattached (bah).

The question now, as the toe of the first sock draws nigh, is whether or not to reverse the colours for the second, which will also have a different large skull, and whether that would enhance or overwhelm that difference.

November 21, 2016

Decrease to 11 sts each needle, graft.

December 1, 2016

Ooops! realised I’ve been working the chart for the second big skull in reverse. Still, not a noticeable problem. Still not sure whether to do the same pattern on the top of the foot or something different…
