Notes

2/1/09: I’ve had this blue silk yarn for a long time. I’ve made (and frogged) two different projects with it, so it’s starting to pill a bit. But it’s just so pretty! I am giving it one last shot with the Buttercup pattern.

I’m leaving out the bow, and I added 4 short rows to the left and right fronts for added bust shaping.

5/4/09: At last! I’ve made a wearable garment with this yarn!! I never thought it would happen. I made the following changes to the pattern:

  1. Shortened the sleeves (because I was running out of yarn), and made them wider. When I made them according to pattern instructions my arms looked like stuffed sausages.

  2. Added four rows of short-row shaping to the bust, which turned out nicely. Even though I’ll probably wear the cardigan open, it’s nice to know that if i wanted to button it i could.

  3. Added trim in a contrasting green (again, because i feared running out of yarn). I am happy with the olive green.
