Amazing, amazing, so fricking amazing! I cannot believe that no one besides iamarebel has posted photos of a completed sweater for this pattern. Oh well, I’m happy to be the first one.
This pattern was love at first sight. I drooled over it for six months before I started, and the result is just as lovely as I’d imagined--lovely colors, and the fit is better than I anticipated! My only gripes are that the Knit Picks Palette is rather itchy, the collar is a bit high and floppy, seaming with fingering weight yarn took a long time, and I despise knitting colorwork back and forth (pretty much impossible to maintain perfect tension! Although thankfully, you can’t really tell in the finished project. I really need to learn to steek). None of these things are Sangmi’s fault, though! Thanks for the excellent pattern, Sangmi!
This is a very eye-grabbing sweater. I’ve only worn it in public twice and have already gotten quite a few compliments.
I did make a couple mods:
-Ignored the directions to create a fake seam-stitch in the body. You will have to have a fake seam-stitch in the sleeves, as the sleeve chart cuts some sheep off. However, unless you like the look of a continuous seam, adding fake seam stitches on the body is totally unnecessary. The main reason I nixed this was because I found the wording in the directions confusing (especially “This part combines body back”). After frogging my first attempt at the body I decided I didn’t want to try to figure out the placement of the fake seam stitch relative to the increases.
-Shortened the ribbing on both body and sleeves. This was unintentional, but by the time I had discovered it I was most of the way finished with the body. The sweater might have hung a little better around the bottom with more ribbing, but it would have been a bit long for my torso.
I shortened the sleeve ribbing to match the body and was terrified that the sleeves would be far too short. Luckily, they’re just a little on the short side, which I like anyway.
