Notes

a few changes, for stature & fit. started with the sleeves to length (custom, not per pattern) then put on waste yarn, provisional CO for body seamlessly, pocket linings knit-in via intarsia with complimentary yarn at the same time on both sides & back (that’s 5 joined working ends! i feel like i’m doing colorwork!), subtle waist shaping, short row bust shaping (worked out to be a full panel B1), joined sleeves where appropriate & finished yoke, leaving neck stitches live for button band. for bottom band ribbing, i took the live stitches off the provisional CO & knit with CC then worked 1x1 twisted rib (RS ktbl, p; WS ptbl, k) 18 rows total, then jssbo.

for button band, picked up stitches around full fronts & knit across the neck, then CO 9sts (number called for on all sizes) & worked together with live stitches on joining edge (to avoid seaming at finish) - like noreen1009 describes on her project page (link below)… i ended up knitting together with the picked up border stitch ever other row for the verticals, and every single row on the live stitches at the neck. took only three tries to figure out how to keep the neckline from getting all wavy (;

i received 6 balls of this now-discontinued yarn as a gift & am anxious to get it out of the bundles & into something cozy!

encouraged by noreen1009’s beautiful version, and deromilly’s heartwarming story

charts created via http://jacquie.typepad.com/Charts/knitChart.htm
…& worked by ignoring stitch descriptions in the key (due to errors still unfixed as of beginning this project) & just working them as i know they ought to be.

23g iLTW! for pocket lining

decided on ysolda’s tutorial for sewn button loops so i could concentrate on working the length of the button band & not worry about where the buttons would be after blocking so i could make buttonholes while knitting (before blocking).
