Notes

02-09-2017

I’ve been working on this slowly since 2010, apparently. Currently having a burst of focus on it and have added about three more rows in the last couple of weeks. Going to ride this wave as long as it last and make lotsa pretty little squares.

04-07-2019

I have reached a length which will be enough to cover my feet while I’m laying down!

Adding a black border to the whole thing, simoultauneously filling in the triangles and working an i-cord edge. CO 10, work across, turn, work to the second to last stitch, kfb, slip the last stitch, with the wrong side facing pick up one from the edge and knit the two together through the back loop. Turn, slip the first stitch, knit to last 3 stitches, slip wyif, turn and repeat across. When decreasing, k2tog before last stitch..

Picked this up after a summer break. Had to tackle the question of turning the corner for the edging (also, but props to past me for writing up notes on how to do the edging).

Here’s what I did:

  • work as usual to final row of corner square -25 stitches
  • work 17 rows straight, beginning after the last increase row. Continue with i-cord, slip first stitch on right side.
  • top i-cord will be worked with ws facing
  • work 3 rows plain i-cord for corner
  • next k2, k2tog (last i-cord stitch plus one live stitch)
  • continue until all live stitches are used up.
  • pick up along slip stitches (11 stitches on needle)
  • pick up one from first square on next side, k2tog with last pu stitch (resuming previous edging pattern)
  • work edging as normal
