I thought this pattern was challenging because of the different way the directions are given from what I am normally use to. I am still a little old fashion because I have been crocheting for a lifetime.

This pattern comes out to 40 inches when followed exactly, using number 10 crochet thread. I needed 8 more inches to fit the table I made it for. I adapted the directions from the granny stitch ring for the last outer ring. This pattern was designed as a blanket. Some colors of thread I just barely had enough to finish. I was using what I had in my stash which is ages old and not all the rolls were un-used. So I think it is safe to say 2 rolls of each color should be safe.
