Found a basic baby hat pattern, adapted it a bit and made up my own version of the Brainmonster. I’ve made so many of them now, and only wish I’d known how to knit and knew how to knit these hats when my boys were that little!

I’ve never written down the pattern, so have to remind myself every time. The ear flaps are seed stitch, which is a bit of a pain to figure out increases, but the texture of the yarn fudges it all nicely! I sew on large black buttons and use a heavy-duty glue for the googly eyes. I like to make six smaller teeth, with the two front ones bigger.
