Notes

I can’t remember how many skeins I used for this (maybe 9?), but it was less than I expected because the blanket came out smaller than I expected. Wish I would have done one more repeat of the pattern across the rows and two more repeats for length. Still, it came out just lovely as a nice little throw!

I changed the ruffled ends to a seed stitch border and found out why the designer made ruffles on the end - the cast on edge pulls with the pattern and ends up wavy. That’s one reason I thought to make the embroidered tag, and it did help stabilize the edge a bit.

The actual blanket was finished in about 6 weeks, but the tag took about a year! I stained cotton twill tape with acrylic fabric paint, embroidered their names and wedding date, and attached it to the blanket along the inside of the border. Kind of a pain and don’t think it will stand the test of time as the rest of the blanket stretches and that end doesn’t, but I couldn’t resist trying the idea out once it popped into my head!
