This is a complete makeover of the African Flower Blanket I made five years ago, which sadly had fallen apart. I’ve learned to never ever begin a crochet motif with the magic ring technique: it doesn’t hold at all.

I unravelled the edging, and unstitched the whole blanket apart. Of the original 99 hexagons a dozen had unravelled beyond repairs, and had to be discarded. I repaired the rest, secured the magic ring center of each motif, crocheted an extra hexagon round with cream-white yarn (to make up for the discarded hexagons), and a two-row edging around the blanket.

It’s a much better blanket now.
