Notes

Very well written pattern with a lovely lacy yoke that features two rows of hearts. It includes written instructions and also charts. It probably should be made with negative ease, so that the yoke stretches out nicely when worn, and the hearts become more defined.

I had some sizing issues despite gauge being right on: size 8 (for my 8-year-old girl) was way too big, so I made size 6 which is perfect.

I found the nupp stitches much easier to work with the help of a crochet hook.

The neckline is designed very wide, and didn’t sit properly on the shoulders. I ripped it back, and added decreases by omitting the yo’s on row 49. Then I stitched the neckline back tightly (it gathers just a little), and that made the neckline the right size.

Also, I modified the sleeves and neckline, and made a picot edging (like the adult version of this pattern - from what I see from the photos - which I really like).
