Notes

Since this is a test knit I followed the pattern precisely, with no modifications.

Let me start by saying I loved this knit! It was so quick and just a joy from beginning to end.

I knit this on wooden needles and I find my gauge is a little tighter when I use them. So, after swatching a few times decided on a 5.5mm needle to obtain the correct gauge.

I used a 32” circular to knit the entire hat using magic loop. (my preferred method)

I chose to knit the hat with 6 of the lace pattern repeats to give it a fair amount of slouch without being too voluminous.

Although I knit this over two days, the worsted yarn makes it a quick project and can easily be done in a few hours if you have dedicated knit time.

When it came time to block the finished piece I gave it a good soak in lukewarm water and rinsed well. I shaped it like a disk and laid the hat flat to dry over night. In the morning when it was mostly dry I put a bowl inside to aide in drying and to give the crown a little more support to shape it properly.
