Notes

Top-down raglan with intentional mis-join of yarn wherever the last yarn leaves off. I’m going for how I always pictured Dolly Parton’s “Coat of Many Colors,” so I want everything to be off by just a smidge.

February 23, 2015: Two-and-a-half skeins in so far. I’m switching colors every skein. That 100 yards goes a long way. Current colors are orange, dark green, and bright pink. Not quite at sleeve holes just yet.

February 25, 2015: We’ve got sleeve join! Aaaaand, I joined earlier than intended. I’ve decided to forge ahead anyway and just keep adding rows. I’ve got a yellow that will make a good trim and close that front gap with a shawl collar, so I’m not worried. The project’s been on hold since this point while I work on a cosplay for Emerald City Comic Con, but I’ll be picking it up again soon.

March 14, 2015: Picked this back up since most of the cosplay work is done. I’ve been adding to it here and there as I can, and I’m nearly finished on the length of it, just two more skeins to call it good. I think I’ve got enough yarn to get the sleeves fixed up, and I’m excited to see it really start to come together.

March 15, 2015: Sweater is officially full-length and looking great. Moving onto the sleeves, next.

March 18, 2015 SLEEVES. Now, to do the trim, add buttons, and call it done.

March 22, 2015 And we’re done! The elastic in the Cascade Fixation gave the edging a ruffle-look that was intentional, but I love it. I really like the way it’s all come out. It’s very comfortable, and while the uneven color aspect is not as obvious as I planned, I do like that it peeks through especially on the back. Now, I just have to figure out how to close it properly. The stretch on the yarn makes it a bit difficult to just put on buttons.
