Welcome to my distraction dress. I needed something big that would keep my interested as I took breaks from job searching a while back. The result is this dress, which came about as I made mistakes and decided to just work within them.

The original plan was for a plain black dress, worked from the waist up with the skirt added later. I misjudged the top, and I needed a quick fix. Luckily, I had some hot pink yarn lying around that, when added strategically, gave the dress some pop and filled in the gaps quite nicely. There’s a round of elastic hidden in the bright pink waistband to help give the bodice proper shape.
