I love turtles. I have made some silly crochet turtles with my leftover yarn from other projects. They always turn out well, and despite my need for them to be perfect, my friends think they are awesome. I am making this to continue my turtle themed crocheting. There are currently coupons online (as of December 2011) that will take 50% off digital downloads at Interweave Crochet. This pattern was a steal at $2.75.

I changed the color scheme of the pattern around to make a darker blanket. Instead of using green and lighter green, I am using a olive green and a brown that will blend in well together. I kept the orange and will follow the pattern aside from the color change.

I am finally finished with the hexagons. Now, I have to stitch it all together. There was a mishap when I tried to block each hexagon individually. It hexagon lost some of its shape and robustness. I am considering blocking it after I’m done stitching it together, if at all.

I am all finished with the afghan. It looks great now that its all put together. I don’t know if I am going to put an orange border on this afghan. I will try it out, but otherwise, this project is finished!
