Notes

Up until the border I can honestly say I’ve been enjoying this shawl. I’ve picked up new techniques and it’s been a challenging project- but as I said, enjoyable.

There is something about the border, though, that I cannot quite wrap my head around. I’ve stopped and started about twenty times already (also have decided to go beadless since the beads I had were too large for this lace-weight yarn.) I am ready to tear my hair out. I am almost tempted to bind off without a border at all, but how sloppy and half-assed would that be? Maybe we are about to find out.

12/21 Decided against the border…I mean the body is epic enough, right? Simply binding off would have been too tight though, (I tried it - there was no give at all to the 10 or 20 or so stitches I bound off, as a test.) I went with the frilled standard bind-off, which was nice and stretchy. Seeing it pinned out, I do not regret for a second not doing the border.
