So, here we go! The ends need to be woven in and I’m sure she could do with a light wash and a blocking, but the first Underwing Mitt by Erica Heusser is finished! I left off the second contrasting color on the wings because I didn’t like how they looked as a duplicate stitch. I realize that secondary hue is probably the whole point of the pattern’s name, but oh well .

For my first-ever attempt with stranded colorwork, I’ll admit, I’m pretty pleased with myself. And that’s a thing we should recognize in ourselves more often, isn’t it? No point in being humble and coy when you know you’ve done something well. I did it so well that I knit the dang chrome off my nails! Here’s to many more successes, small and large—and the in between ones too!—in 2019!

Now I guess I gotta knit the other one.

The moon cuff portion on one looks like I may have knit a few extra rows, not sure how that happened.
