Made a few modifications as the first time I made a pair they were too big and floppy.

-went down a needle size
-did one less repeat of the lace cuff
-picked up 26 stitches instead of 38, adjusted accordingly along the way
-the thumbholes as they are, are much too big; I joined in the round just after the last decrease, before knitting the three rows of stockinette. Actually, I made it 4 rows of stockingette
-I eliminated the floppy, curling picot bind off, and bound off with a very snug k1p1 bind off. It looks perfectly fine, and is great for small hands, but it’s not at all stretchy, just as an FYI.
