2/10: button bands were crap. they didn’t lay flat at all and the buttons looked totally wonky. so i ripped out the whole thing and did a garter stitch one. i’m still looking for eyes for the owls but i’m just gonna call this one complete and forget about it. (see last pics for button bands before and after)
if i ever knit this sweater again, i would just do it as a pullover and forget the cardigan thing altogether. really wasn’t worth the extra effort of knitting back and forth instead of in the round. it doesn’t even look good unbuttoned. also, i think this yarn is too warm for a sweater. whenever i put it on i start sweating immediately. i don’t know when it will ever get worn, but the yarn was so expensive i really need to find an occasion
04/21: button bands done…. can’t find buttons i like! thinking about making some…. holy lord is this a warm sweater….
04/14: sweater body is done, just need buttons and button bands.
03/26: yay! browsed through everyone who had this yarn in their stash, checked where they bought it, and emailed EVERY STORE… finally found one store that had my dyelot in… michigan! ha. they were really nice about it and shipping was reasonable. so that’s on its way and this should get done pretty soon. :-D
03/20: magic isn’t happening-- i’m 2 skeins short and i can’t find the color anywhere. boo!
bought the last 7 skeins of this color… don’t think it’ll be enough. i cast on and am hoping some will magically fall into my stash before i need it. altering the gauge of this pattern as well as turning it into a cardigan with picked up buttonband. i’m pretty excited.
